I honestly have no idea what could be causing it, and the only way I can get these files to play on my Mac side is by running them through Movie Maker on the windows side to convert them to an MP4, which can be time consuming and just a pain.AVCHD is a format that is used to store digital recording and HD videos. The only 'computer' I've tried it on where it doesn't stuff up is the windows bootcamp side of my Mac. Funnily enough, I tried them on my PC (Windows) and it too had the problem.
They also take forever to start playing and are just generally a pain in the ass. The real problem however, is that whenever I try to play the files (in quicktime, VLC, whatever) they have these weird lines all across them and look really blurry, as well as stopping and turning grey at random intervals. First of all, whenever I plug it in it shows all the folders as 'AVCHD collections' and you have to 'show package contents' to access them. I have a video camera that records in AVCHD file format, and my Mac doesn't seem to like it.
